COURSE IN PRINT JOURNALISM: WRITING FOR MAGAZINES


From January to April Fred Misurella will teach a course at East Stroudsburg University about writing for magazines. The course will include discussion of and practice in writing feature stories, personality profiles, and reviews. Students will learn to write effective query letters, conduct indepth interviews, and compete with other writers for attention from editors. A portion of the course will concern studying magazines as markets for writing.

From January through April, 2008, Fred Misurella will teach a graduate course in Contemporary Literature at East Stroudsburg University that will include work by Dave Eggers, Stuart Dybek, Joan Didion, Richard Ford, Claire Messud, Robert Haas, and James Harms. ASSOCIATED WRITING PROGRAMS CONFERENCE IN NYC:

From January 31 to February 2, Fred Misurella will be at the Bordighera Publisher's table with Daniela Gioseffi (The John Ciardi Lifetime Achievement in Poetry Award Winner) to sign books and talk about Lies to Live By and Short Time.

READING AT THE CORNELIA STREET CAFE IN NEW YORK:

On May 10 at 6:30, Fred Misurella will read from, and sign copies of, Lies to Live By at the monthly meeting of IAWA (The Italian American Writers Association).
